Long Way Round

What better way to spend your weekends watching the adventures of Feargus Cooney
in his round the world ticket trip and also Ewan Mcgregor with Charlie Boorman in
the Long Way Round series on Nat Geo.

Certaintly there are phases of your life where you are more into something more than
the other, even when you are indefinitely sure that you could've sticked to one thing
for the rest of your life. Mine now is travelling.

My mum is unbelievably strong headed in convincing me not to do any high risk stuff.
Even going out at night to town with a few of my friends could be categorised as
highly dangerous activity because of recent slashing and shit. What i kept trying to tell
her is that alot of things in life people don't do because of the what ifs. What if you get
hurt, what if people are nasty to you, what if you get trapped in the other country? You cannot
change the fact that these are going to happen no matter what you do and however much
you don't want it to. Face it man, and this what ifs are the factors that makes the journey
exciting and when you look back, you can say omg i've fucking made it. Don't make selfish
solutions and think in such a way that when you back, you know that you gave it your all
and the endurance is worth the pain.

Its okay mum, the way she's brought up i believe theres alot she went throught that
she cannot bear to lose any of her sons. Any mistake is okay to make, just make sure
it doesnt cost your life. I respect that, but sorry no can comply.
Anyway its her birthday today.

Now travelling bears a huge part of my life, there are plenty others too. I'm sure this passion
will simmer down in awhile and hopefully the creative side of me will surface and lead me to
build my portfolio and get financially stable. Then i can take care of my family and carry on
my own path at full throttle knowing that i've done my part as a son, then i can truly seek passion.

wohoo

cheers

Dude.
We're Travellers man!

And so this trip was a blast, even when i'm over here blogging i could feel
the cool breeze from the atmosphere back in cyprus.
Come on im not exaggerating, but looking back at the photos it all came back to me.
Yes.
Its the lightness in your chest that you feel when you're over there,
far from your worries,
letting go all this shit army has taught you about
committing your life to regimentation.
Over here i can be as silly and retarded as i can be,
picking up how to enjoy life once again. Haha

Highlight of my time there was no doubt interacting with the locals,
making good decisions, opening up my mind to new ideas
as i experience the differences.

Cool, i think i've created an alternate reality for me to be in when i'm
feeling like shit in the army, for me to keep believing, and keep my dreams alive.

I have this handbook that i jolt things down everytime i'm out for adventure.
Fill it up fill fill it up.
Realised that i can't go on like this forever.
Time to start seeking passion and obtaining it,
get my finance stabilised, take care of my family,
get a round the world ticket, breakthrough into the industry.
Before 30

Don't stop buddy,
Keep moving.

Warmest Regards,
Zi Chao

Stick to the fight when you're hardest hit.
Its when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.

With such little time in my hands, finally thought i should come and update on the past couple of weeks.
No doubt the toughest week, and more to come actually.
I really should think of it positively, though this ordeal has put me through a series of bitching
session to my colleagues and peers.
haha.

A quick summary
I have......

Learnt the science behind planning,
discovered my capability and stress tolerence,
managing time,
improving my english,
having fun in the midst of crisis,
dealing with people above and under you,
understanding their true intentions,
sizing people up, learn their fears and threaten their way of life,
mind fucking people under me,
giving out punishment,
giving out rewards,
creating a mental frame of organisation chart
and lots more.

Some people are just too cold,
things has to be done,
yes
but in the expense of their morale?

My next 6 months will be dark,
least, 3 months might get better.

Hoping to get do so much in the next several months,
for now, just wish i could take leave and fly to cyprus.

Warmest regards,

Pep talk to one self

I recently felt kinda down after some emotionally connected chit chat with my new found friends.
I guess maybe they didn't felt the same way as i did because
so much was taken away from me the past year. Not to cast down the standards
of national service nor the pride of officership, but really, the thing taken from
me that i value was my desire of self fulfillment.

The time spent in the closed up wire fence deluded me into the state where i felt
all i wanted was just these much, contained in a small cube. Nooo,
this marks the beginning where i find my lost self again.

OK lah, it was quite an equivalent trade. Learning so much
soft skills no where else could've taught me, I've came in with the mindset of
learning as much free things as possible and get the allowance to fund my studies.
Been there done that.
No point lamenting on the idea right
Now to make the best of the rest,
Find myself back
and
continue learning!

Our ego can't stand the punishment
But we have to just keep pushing on..

What's waiting on the other side?

Paris?

London?

Home?

Don't lose it man
Let the dots connect
Trust that everything will work out
