There is so much waiting ahead of us

Just got back watching Voyage De La Vie.
My god,

Ok another entry from 11secondclub,
everytime i enter a new project,

Trying real hard not to cook up an excuse but

comments on my shot by Edin_Durmisevic

Your shot is looking pretty good. I like some poses and gesture choices like the gesture at frame 125 - 158 that is great. You have nice cutting and I see that you don't have the problem with 180 degree rule that I noticed lot of people had in last month competition.

Things that I would think about to improve in future work are

- energy of the character. First part of the dialogue is very energetic. Character is mad and bothered by something she regularly and repeatedly does and in your shot character is saying it little bit like its something he notes on other character and not something that bothers him.

- exaggeration, just go for it try not to push it to far but its better to have it more then to have it less. Exaggerate reaction, poses, timing, rhythm ( slow calm action vs fast and frenetic reactions). Only thing that sometimes is not good to exaggerate is acting cos it becomes unnatural that is something that should be as subtle as it can.

- staging, at the opening shot you have much unused space to the right part of the screen that is good if something will happen in that part but in your shot nothing happens we cut to the other shot. This is something that is important in film language. choices that you make for staging should help the action and focus attention toward the main action in the shot. And when you stage character avoid symmetry. At the beginning of the shot your character is to vertical and flat. Find poses that illustrates better how the character feel even when they don't speak or act.

- I see that your acting is pretty good you have some nice things in here. To make your shot better even great do one thing: analyze  what do your characters do when they are not saying anything or when they are silence.
They do little or nothing they just react by rocking every time  when character who speaks hits the beat. You had it going good at the beginning with pink character but brown character is flat when he does not speak.

- practice body mechanics and in this part I think that you have great potential just practice as much as you can like jumps, turns, walks, and things like that, study movement as much as you can

OK this is to much of text and it does not mean that you are that much bad I just tried to explain as best as I could, things that I think about when animate. These are not rules this is something that I have learned in AM program and by reading about animation. This is my approach and I hope its helpful to you

Keep the good work and don't let some stars putt you down wink

comments by Victoria Lopez

i think that you should move a little bit the boy when the girl is speaking

comments by Bertrand Dubromel

good dynamic, still a bit rough

comments by Tom Davis

Nice job. I feel like he could have acted his part with a little more emotion. He doesn't seem as annoyed as he could. She lays into him pretty nicely though, which again makes me want more from him. I kinda wish she'd have been doing something more annoying to set him off.

comments by Velid

i would add more overlap and follow through when she hits the table says "look" and maybe add a moving hold so guy dont seem dead in some places

but i like it overall and "its stupid" really looks realistic

comments by Ignacio Fina

Acting and timing are good. Animation needs to be polished.

comments by Tony Bobay

Decent animation but best lipsyncing i have seen yet this month

comments by Elias Glasch

really like the poses of the female even though everyone in the forums said that her gesturing the number one was cliche, but who cares. More attention could have been given to the male. I also like the staging a lot.

comments by Steve Searle

the gilr animation is great, shame about the guy, surely he would move his body more when hes shouting at her? so more expression the guy character would be nice

Thanks for the critique guys.

Dude.
We're Travellers man!

And so this trip was a blast, even when i'm over here blogging i could feel
the cool breeze from the atmosphere back in cyprus.
Come on im not exaggerating, but looking back at the photos it all came back to me.
Yes.
Its the lightness in your chest that you feel when you're over there,
far from your worries,
letting go all this shit army has taught you about
committing your life to regimentation.
Over here i can be as silly and retarded as i can be,
picking up how to enjoy life once again. Haha

Highlight of my time there was no doubt interacting with the locals,
making good decisions, opening up my mind to new ideas
as i experience the differences.

Cool, i think i've created an alternate reality for me to be in when i'm
feeling like shit in the army, for me to keep believing, and keep my dreams alive.

I have this handbook that i jolt things down everytime i'm out for adventure.
Fill it up fill fill it up.
Realised that i can't go on like this forever.
Time to start seeking passion and obtaining it,
get my finance stabilised, take care of my family,
get a round the world ticket, breakthrough into the industry.
Before 30

Don't stop buddy,
Keep moving.

Warmest Regards,
Zi Chao

Drawing done past weeks

*take note of the mistakes
gotta keep on improving

Raising the flag on Iwo Jima
one of my favourites..
speaks a thousand words

upon taking the pictures, 10 years later, he wrote:
Out of the corner of my eye, I had seen the men start the flag up. I swung my camera and shot the scene. That is how the picture was taken, and when you take a picture like that, you don't come away saying you got a great shot.
You don't know.

Focus on the
Vision

Seven Learning Disabilities
I believe that these stuff here will aid anyone tremendously, as at some point of our lives,

we'll need to get a job. This 7 disabilities are vito factors that can change the way you see
your organisation, and thus see yourself and your friends.
  • I Am my Position
is when people focus only on their position within the organization and have little sense of responsibility for the results produced -when all positions interact.

For example right now, in the airforce, at times i never felt that i'm being myself.
I have succumbed to the infrastructure, that is regimentation. I always say "yes sir yes sir",
but at what time does it come from myself. This drives my creativity rock bottom.
I have to think for myself . I am who i am.

  • The Enemy is out there
syndrome is when we focus only on our position; we do not see how our own actions extend beyond the boundary of that position.

I used to push the blame to something else. For example, my last IPPT test,
I did not do as best as i could've. The weather took the blame, the breakfast that morning took the blame,
my blisters took the blame. But all in all, nothing is to be blamed. Something is to be redeemed.

  • The illusion of taking charge
is that we should face up to difficult issues, stop waiting for someone else to do something, and solve problems before they grow into crises but proactiveness is really reactive ness in disguise.

If there comes a situational event, and i can't handle it. Don't wait and think
that your friend or superior is coming to save you. That was what i thought
that time, during BMT shellscrape digging.

  • The Fixation on events
leads to “event” explanations that are true for now but distract us from seeing the longer-tenri patterns of change behind the events and understanding the causes of the patterns to events.

Pearl Harbor was bombed, because they were too fixated on their current life.
A life safe from enemies. They thought this pattern could last forever. Little did they know
that the reason they are safe, is because no one had attacked them yet.

  • The parable of the boiled frog
is in relation to the maladaptation of organizations to recognize gradually building threats to survival; just as the frog placed in a pot of water brought to boiling temperature will not attempt to jump out of the pot but adjusts to the temperature and slowly dies.

China is an example of a boiled frog. A century ago, they were attacked by the eight power allied forces.
They got adjusted to their life so well, and thought that they were the center of the world, first to evole so fast. They were caught totally unprepared, and slaughtered to their deaths.

The delusion of learning from experience
is when our actions have consequences in the distant future or part of the larger operating system, which makes it impossible to learn from direct experience.

Some solutions take years to see the consequences

  • [7]-The M y t h of the management team
because teams in business tend to spend their time fighting for turf, avoiding anything that will make them look bad personally, and pretending that everyone is behind the team’s collective strategy.

This is what i've learnt

If i can practice these habits, i'm sure my future boss will like me.
If i can practice these habits, i'm sure when i'm a boss, my team will like me.

---------------------------------------------------------

PERSONAL MASTERY

There are 2 types of Reality

Current Reality
and
Future Reality

Current Reality

is whereby you keep focusing what you want to get rid of,
Solving the problems in your life, and stay stuck in there.
See to believe.

Future Reality
is focusing on creating, progress and create the vision of yours.
Believing, and having that picture in mind.
Believe, to see.

Michelangelo
did not carve an angel, by seeing the rock as a rock.
He already saw an angel in the rock, and brought it to life.

Current reality is
When an

Event
occurs, example going to work.
and everyday you go to work, it slowly becomes a
Pattern Over Time
where this thing is repetitive.
when that happens, it becomes a
Systematic Structure
where this is what will happen daily, and you yourself know it.
you have succumbed to the circle of that life.
Slowly but surely, it'll turn into a
Mental Model
where it is your deeply held belief, image and assumption
of what you hold to the routine, yourself and your organisation.
How you fit in there.
Eventually, it forms into your
Vision
what you see yourself as, as an end result.

Now,

Future reality is
When you have a
Vision
what you wanna become in the future, what you see yourself as
and what you see the world around you is.
When you have that vision, it will slowly turn into your
Mental Model
where it is your deeply held belief, image and assumption
of what you hold to the routine, yourself and your organisation.

How you fit in there.
Then you will slowly learn to slowly progress to reach your goal,
dream and vision. When you start executing that plan of yours,
you will have a
Systematic Structure.
Keep doing it and it'll become a
Pattern Over Time
and slowly but surely, turning into the
Event
Where your dream comes true.

Personally, i believe that it is impossible to reach that vision of yours.
Because you ain't a future teller, you cannot predict situations. But what i know is,
you will come very close to that vision, because you have tried to
reach the stars, and even if you fail, you'll hit the sun.
Who knows you might be trying to hit the sun,
but reach the stars instead hahaha.

Lee Kwan Yew had a very strong vision of singapore,
he is a great example of this personal mastery.

I'll take alittle but more time to elaborate the stage from Mental Model to Systematic Structure,
because my visioning exercise had loopholes like these.

First you need to get your Mental Model right,
if there's a mismatch from the reality to mental model,
find out what the problem is, re-examine them and challenge the mental model.
If you've got it right, its time to execute them.
You will find a purpose of executing them. Why do you need to do it, ask yourself.
If you don't know, use your core values to guide yourself.
When you have that fundamental purpose, have a vision,
that picture of yours in your brain.
Then, develop a strategy to acheive that vision.
After you got a strategy, plan out your approach.
These strategy and tactic must align with your vision.
Break and overcome that barrier that is interfering your perfromance.
and reach the potential of new learnings.

-------------
I feel very lucky to get paid to learn all these.
This is the first time i've actually liked lectures in RSAF.

Now, its time for me to get back to developing my portfolio.
I haven't got much time to strike out my to-do list these few days.
But hey its all goood..
Gonna make sure i post some awesome drawings next week!

Say what you mean
and mean what you say.

I guess if you'd keep giving yourself excuses
and empty promises,
you'll end up having nothing to gain
at the end of the day.

Drawing done in a week!
During those boring lectures

Keeping track of my progress...
