FZD School
So glad i went there for a tour
and listen to the lecturer talk
Really inspired by the things he said
like
a design is a design, besides looking good it has to serve its purpose
same goes for animation
it not only needs to be appealing
it also needs to convey the message and deliver them correctly.
he also said that however good you think your work are,
there are always something to improve on.
And i met this guy named Kai
i can see that he is very passionate about what he's doing
and very focused also.
I want to be like him
doing what he really like and finding your place in this industry.

I need to express myself,
in animation and in life.
something for me to ponder over the weekends.

---------------------------------
Animating Rubix Cube
why didn't i thought of an external rotation axis
i am an animator but funny it hasn't crossed my mind
until my colleague came and enlighten me.
I am flustered
but good lesson for me to learn.
need to get rid of this tunnel vision of mine.
and THINK before you animate.

---------------------------------
Idea for 11 second club JUNE entry

1) Main character opens the door,
turns around and looks strongly at multiple subjects,
giving head and eye darts.
2)Camera cut to show many people
looking at the main character,
like outcasted.
3) He gets angry and starts saying,
"A guy like me should never be allowed to get in here in the first place,
I know that.
And I hate to stand here and try your patience like this but...
either I'm dead right or either I'm crazy!"

acting all gay and stuff

---------------------------------

11 secondclub MAY entry results has came out
got 93 out of 191
very disappointing
but i'm glad i know where i stand
from all these great animators from all around of the world.
I'll work harder

Thanks for all the comments from these awesome animators!
I'm very happy to see so many constructive feedbacks.

Tim Shim:
You're trying to hit too many poses at once, for example when he says 'go'. Other than that, he seems a bit wacky for a while then suddenly becomes normal starting from 'you'll have to come up ...'.

waldson:
I think its a litle overloaded, too much theatrical.

patrick paradis:
i like how the first half was Super Overdramatic, and the second was lacking nice poses.

Angelo Sta. Catalina:
haha.. hes funny.. but you need to work on the overlap and spacing..

John Marshall:
All the ballerina acting made me laugh out loud, but it's ultimately pretty blocked-out, and the movement between each pose is a bit dicey. I loved the way he pranced across the screen at the beginning. My favourite poses were during "And see him fly, and better still, see him back" sell the animation right there! That's a nice weight shift at the end, but after his other crazy poses, I think he could do better. He also needs to settle into his poses better.

Shahrizal:
nice snappy timing.. but need some work on the arcs.. especially the arms.. looks very "floaty" towards the end..

Sam Caudill:
Awesome action! Very cool action poses (better still see 'em back!). My only critique (and this is nit-picky) might be to end on a more expressive pose

Sergey B.:
Lyp sync isn't good

Ean:
good poses and need more anticipation before move to the next pose.

Robert Diaz:
Definatly not a boring piece. If you polish and smooth it out some more, and work on the lipsync there is potential for a really good piece.

Mats Vederhus:
Wow!This was... interesting! The acting kind of felt a bit over the top at first but then I watched it again and realized it was quite solidly done!

Marcos Borba Moreira:
i think it was over animated some parts

Michael Nair:
fun poses..

luv2animate:
I like it..his actions so dramatic..ha ha funny...

Zoe Piel:
I think you went a little overboard.

Alexander Petreski:
That's way too over-acted for my taste. The point of acting is not to "illustrate" every word of the dialogue. You should reflect more on the personality and mood of your character. If you analyze good actors, you'll see that they usually enhance the dialogue even with simple gestures.

Cassandra Ward:
the staging is non existent. lots of movement and you haven't given us enough time to digest it, put in a moving hold and hold for a about 10 frames at the end of the most of your gestures and see how that feels. not much movement in the pelvis which is strange because the force of any movement starts at the hips and moves outwards, try standing up and moving around and then try to move without moving you pelvis. it rather hard isn't it? and notice how much you need to move it also. Your Line of action needs a lot of work.

Craig Olsson:
Facial expressions are good, and the posing works very well. The arms going limp and kind of "dangling" at the end gave it too much of a puppet look to me.

Chad Rieck:
It looks like you animated to each phrase separately then mashed them together into an incoherent action. Try creating a story, not just movements.

Amanda Gil:
jajajaja really funny. :D

Una Marzorati:
I love it! favorite face on 'dead exciting'

Andy O.:
Some of the key poses are good, but as a whole it needs more work to really shine.

So to summarise,
i overacted and did not give it a story
but hey its all good
because this was what i intended to do
only to practice my physicality and such.

To be more specific,
my line of action needs more work
poses are hard to digest
Lip sync could've been better

Look out for my June entry
i will improve.
